Abuja, Nigeria – The Zero Tolerance to Corruption & Impunity Initiative (ZTCII) today launched a passionate call to action for Nigerians to stand against bad leadership and demand accountability and transparency in governance. The call was made during the organization’s launch event in Maitama, Abuja, where key issues affecting the nation were highlighted.
Convener’s Statement
Mr. Stanley Amaziro, Convener of ZTCII, emphasized the urgent need to address the unacceptable level of inequality in Nigeria, particularly highlighting the alarming statistic of over 50 million out-of-school children. “Infrastructure development should prioritize human well-being,” he stressed, advocating for investments in technology, human development capacity, and poverty reduction to bridge the gap of inequality.
Call to Action
Mr. Sunday Omede, a key figure in the organization, urged Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and be prepared to vote out non-performing leaders in the 2027 elections. “The upcoming elections are a revolution against corrupt and ineffective leadership,” he said. Mr. Omede also highlighted the high level of insecurity in the nation and its devastating impact on the populace, especially the poor, calling on the government to take immediate action to address this issue.
